Within the next few chapters, we read about several more disasters involving the Herdmans—and learn that their father disappeared when the youngest was two years old and no one blamed him , their mother works double shifts at the shoe factory and no one blamed her either , their home is over a garage, and they own the meanest looking cat. I would like to read other books from this aurther if they continue to be funny like this one was. These six waste no time bending rules: they break them outright. They still set things on fire and knock the other kids black and blue. The stories are all linked by the class assignment to spend all year studying your classmates and then give them a compliment or two on the last day of school.

A Language Arts teacher can read a chapter out of this book every class period, explaining the importance of behavior and why school is so important. My rating? I wonder why the Herdmans has such horrible behavior to mess every thing up, my favorite charecters were the teachers and parents because of what the teachers would always tell the students about the teacher room.

They still set things on fire and knock the other kids black and blue. The them of this story is the Hermans messing up all the school goals and how horrible they make the town but it is way better when there not around.

The photograph that is included on the front cover definitely is what the book is really about. Get to your library! And while most of the stories are extremely funny, the thing there's not really any redeeming qualities to the Herdmann family seen here as we got with "Last Christmas Pagent. Yet young and old around the world love to read about them. Now, I'm older and trying to find good books for my neice and nephew. Oh, and one day they let all the kindergarten mice out of their cage and replaced them with guinea pigs. Can she pull together a fourth book? Read it: Borrow from your library or a friend. For the most part, Barbara Robinson achieves the tricky balance in her Best Ever chapter books between writing about kids who are not enviously awful but who are entertainingly awful.

To everyone else I ask: Which is your favorite book and why? Now, I'm older and trying to find good books for my neice and nephew. The many readers who have laughed out loud at Robinson's uproarious novel, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, will enthusiastically welcome the return of the six cigar-smoking Herdman kids. I think part of it is that Robinson is working hard to make these stories as timeless as possible, along the lines of "Best Christmas Pagent" and left me wondering just what era these stories were taking place. When I was reading this book I felt like I was in a new world because I was so amazed by the book. Jordan Peterson is a believer in the New Religion, the one where God is the force for good inside each of us, and all religions are paths to wisdom, and the Bible stories are just guides on how to live our lives. What could be less interesting than hearing that Jesus loves you, or being harangued about sin, or getting promised Heaven, or threatened with Hell? I likes the ending very much because it ended telling me about the summer. From the curse of bus six to the disappearance of the gerbil in the Kindergarten classroom. The stories are all linked by the class assignment to spend all year studying your classmates and then give them a compliment or two on the last day of school. When trying to write this sequel, Robinson struggled to find a focus. I will recomend this book to a friend because My favorite part of this book was when the Herdmans took the baby and put tacktoos on him and charged every one twenty five cents to see the baby.

Beth tells the story of a year in the life of the Herdman clan and describes her own school assignment: to think of compliments for everyone in her class--including Imogene. When he says that God is the force for good inside each of us, you can feel that force pulsing through your veins.

And that's when I discovered that Robinson had written a couple of sequels to her popular story.
